Anark Release 4.6.5

Anark Publish Upgrades

When upgrading Anark Publish to versions 4.5.85 and later from 4.5.83 or older, you must uninstall the old version before upgrading to new versions.

Example: If you are on 4.5.80, and will upgrade to this latest release of 4.6.4, you must uninstall 4.5.80 and then install 4.6.5.

Anark Collaborate - Content-Centric Collaboration

This release includes several new exciting features to make collaboration around your technical content better and easier.

  • With the introduction of “Spaces” users can now create an isolated environment for collaborating directly on a content item. In contrast to Activities, markups on a content item inside a Space will live with that content item instead of in a feed. Members of that Space with the review privilege will be able to inspect all markups on any content item in the Space. Markups on a content item are saved as comments on a content item, just like adding comments to a Word document or in Adobe PDF. Comments can be assigned to users, assigned a priority, given a status, and any number of custom tags. This is the concept of Content-Centric collaboration.
  • Two new markup tools have been added. For models, a rich text 3D annotation has been added. For data components and documents, a strikethrough tool has been added.
  • A new landing page after logging into Collaboration has been added, and previous options (Feed or My Files) have been removed. Now users will find My Files, Favorites, Spaces they belong to, along with Activities and content items you have access to, all on one page immediately after login.
  • There is now a Linux RPM installer for single-box setups – MongoDB, content storage, and application are all on the same machine – enabling single-command installation and future single-command upgrades. More environments will be supported in the future.
  • Added support for NodeJS 24 and removed support for NodeJS 20.
  • Please see the on-demand webinar on this new feature set from December 10, 2025!

Anark Workstation and Publish

  • New STEP Advanced MBD translator supporting STEP AP242 up to Edition 3, AP214 and AP203.

PLM Integrations and Publishing

Windchill Reference Integration:

  • Added support for file-based watermarking for all three Windchill Objects ( EPMDocument, WTPart and WTDocument)
  • Creo 11 & Windchill 12/13 Compatibility issue: Added support for EPMDocument Content/Component-based publishing.

Teamcenter Reference Integration:

  • Updated the naming convention for all deployment libraries, including RAC, Workflow Handler, AWC, and Dispatcher to facilitate inclusion of new translators with basic capabilities available from core libraries.
  • Revised the naming convention for Dispatcher NX Translator, Preferences, Workflow Handler names, Action Menu names, and Log file names to maintain consistency across all components.
  • Reference integration module for NX data publishing, NX package-based data publishing, NX Creo data publishing have been refactored as the new naming convention.
  • Naming convention changes and refactored source code modules will allow customers to deploy NX data publishing and/or Creo data publishing independently without having any dependencies on one another. Apart from this, new translator development be easily achieved with most of the core capabilities available in base libraries.
  • Introduced a new translator to publish document data from Teamcenter. This translator enables translation of 2D data (metadata, attachment files, embedded files, etc.) without requiring any CAD data as part of publishing.
  • Key features of this type of document publishing include:
    • Publishing capability from Teamcenter Rich Client, Teamcenter Active Workspace and Workflow Handler.
    • Allows document publishing of datasets associated with any item revision with or without CAD dataset.
    • Allows document publishing from assembly with support to extract BOMLine data at a configurable level.
    • Supports extraction of Item and Item Revision metadata
    • Email notifications upon publishing completion.
  • For document publishing these requirements exists also:
    • It is mandatory to have at least one dataset (attachment or embedded file) associated with the Item Revision.
    • The recipe must be configured with an XML file as an import and export format should be PDF with a suitable 2D data template.
    • Teamcenter metadata extraction preferences must be configured as required.

Third Party Deprecation Schedule

Our products use or depend on some third party components. Our philosophy is to provide support to match the oldest version officially supported by each third party provider. For example, we follow the Microsoft support plan for versions of Windows. This section is intended to communicate these schedules in advance to allow our customers to plan. See more info below.

Anark Collaborate

Collaborate currently supports both MongoDB 7 and 8. Per the Mongo schedule, they have removed support for MongoDB 6 in July 2025 and Anark ended support for MongoDB 6.0 with this Release 4.6.5.

MongoDB Server support schedule (https://www.mongodb.com/legal/support-policy/lifecycles)

RHEL support schedule (https://access.redhat.com/support/policy/updates/errata/)

Collaborate currently supports RHEL 8 and 9. Per Red Hat’s policy, you must purchase support from Red Hat for RHEL 8 beyond May 31, 2024.

Anark Workstation and Anark Publish

Workstation and Publish currently support Windows Server 2019 and 2022, Windows 10 and Windows 11. Note that Microsoft has dropped support for Windows 10 on Oct 14, 2025, and has dropped support for Windows Server 2019 on Jan 9, 2024. We support .NET Framework 4.7.2 and up.

Anark has dropped support for Windows 10 in Release 4.6.5. We plan to add support for Windows 2025 in 4.6.6.

PLM Integrations

Anark PLM integrations support the Java Runtime 11 LTS and 17 LTS (https://www.oracle.com/java/technologies/java-se-support-roadmap.html)

Anark Release versioning since 4.6.0:

The main reason behind the new release numbering scheme that started with Release 4.6.0 is to support a major.minor.patch scheme that follows SEMANTIC VERSIONING. For more information, read https://semver.org/ . Essentially, the new numbering scheme means:

  1. MAJOR version - when we make incompatible/breaking changes or offer significant new functionality. For example, a new and improved API, a new database schema, etc. These changes should be reviewed thoroughly before upgrading.

  2. MINOR version - when we add new functionality in a backward compatible manner. The majority of Anark’s changes to Publish and Workstation will be MINOR or PATCH.

  3. PATCH version - when we make backward compatible bug fixes.

We will endeavor to maintain backward compatibility as often as possible to reduce the impact on you, our customers. However, if the potential benefit significantly outweighs the impact, we may elect to make those tradeoffs and will communicate those changes in advance.

Customers who are experiencing problems should strongly consider taking PATCH releases. Customers who want to evaluate new functionality should consider MINOR releases.
